Welcome to the Kenwood poetry blog!

This blog showcases the original poetry of some of Kenwood Academy High School's Senior Class.

The diversity of the student body is mirrored in the diversity of the poetry; some poems are lighthearted and others are quite personal and serious. While the poems incorporate a variety of styles and themes, they are all inspired by the poetry that we've studied in class.

EYES of LIFE

Eyes of glass
Looking into the clouds
Praying 4 changes
In this unpicture perfect world

Tears held back
‘Cause the glass won’t break
Change held back ‘cause
This world don’t wanna change

This boy he a mirror ‘cause
He reflecting off everything he
Seein as if he the mirror
That’s seein everything

Eyes of glass
Looking into the clouds
Rejoicing because his change
Came just on time

Thug eyes, Love Eyes
Tough Eyes, Your Eyes
Everything is seen
Through this reflecting glass
Known as Eyes

This world my prize
Not quite the surprise
That these picture perfect eyes
Weren’t only glass of reflection
But mirrors of Life
